Summer Scholars Present their Research at Bristol Myers Squibb

Bristol Myers Squibb funded Summer Scholars projects for three Fellows (Aidan Fogarty, Caroline Curtin, and Fredy Abboud) in the Institute of Clinical Bioethics. This week, the three Summer Scholars presented their projects at the Bristol Myers Squibb Research Day at their corporate headquarters. This was an amazing experience for our Fellows. Thank you to Bristol Myers Squibb for your support of these projects.

Each Summer Scholar made a video presentation for their projects as well. Below are the videos.

Designing and Implementing a Mental Health Station for the Institute of Clinical Bioethics’ Health Promoter Program

Fredy Abboud and his team are designing and implementing a mental health station for the Health Promoter Programs in order to screen for anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideations. The goal of this project is to ensure free access to psychiatric counseling and therapy for underprivileged and underserved communities in Philadelphia.

Vaccine Hesitancy: Addressing the Barriers to Vaccination

Caroline Curtin and her team are investigating the medical and ethical issues surrounding vaccine hesitancy. By providing vaccinations at Health Promoter Programs, Caroline and her team hope to reduce some of these barriers. The goal of this project is to discover how best to support vaccination as a public health intervention.
