The National Bioethics Bowl consists of debate regarding pertinent bioethical issues and cases, such as biotechnology, organ donation, and gender affirming care. 14 cases were sent to the participating universities. The team prepared for the competition starting in February, meeting weekly to analyze the cases with Drs. Stanley Yong and Sohiel Deshpande (Mercy Catholic Medical Center Residents), Kevin Wildes, SJ, PhD, and Peter Clark, SJ, PhD.

The team won the third round and placed well overall. The team felt well-prepared and were also able to learn throughout the competition. This was an amazing experience for the team and for the Institute, and we look forward to participating next year.
